Katrina Out ! Fatrina In?

Yoooo hooooo ….. it's a great one for the tabloids!! Reportedly, Fatrina, er sorry, Zarine Khan of 'Veer' will replace …. Katrina Kaif, in the sequel to 'Partner!!' Expectedly, both director David Dhawan and Lady Khan have been making the right evasive sounds and dodging the incendiary issue.

The shirtless Khan has made his fondness known for his lead Khan in no uncertain terms. "He said that I was destiny's child since I was chosen for 'Veer' over so many other girls." gushed an awed Zarine to the media. "I'd heard about Salman being short tempered, but not once did he lose his cool with me! Though I must confess that I was really scared of facing his anger." Guess, Katrina might do the honours now ….

Katrina unwell again

As her hemoglobin count continues to plummet, Katrina’s health is causing distress to all those who know her.

Everyone around Katrina, well-wishers, co-stars, friends and family are beginning to be extremely worried about Katrina’s deteriorating health. On Sunday she was again at a suburban hospital to take further tests as her haemoglobin count continued to fall, despite treatment from the best doctors in the city.

Though Katrina has been extremely selective recently about the appearances she makes, she is obviously still straining too much and it is affecting her adversely.

On Sunday Katrina woke up unable to get out of bed. The worst blow to her frail energy level was the hectic wedding of Salman Khan’s close family-friend Krishan Narayan’s daughter which Katrina attended for two consecutive nights on Friday and Saturday for the sangeet and wedding.

Forgetting her delicate health, Katrina had simply let herself go, dancing and having a good time.

A friend explained, “It was a commitment she couldn’t wriggle out of. The bride’s father, an associate of politician Praful Patel, is a very close friend of Salman Khan. And Katrina who has always looked at Salman’s friends as her own, had to be there.”

The result of two consecutive nights of merry-making was a relapse. On Sunday Katrina had to undergo a series of complicated medical tests that went on the whole day

The friend continued, “Katrina’s haemoglobin count continues to plummet. The doctors are perplexed by this. They can’t figure out what is causing this abnormality in her blood. She has been prescribed complete bed rest.”

When contacted, Katrina tried to dismiss her indisposition with. “I will be just fine. I just need to rest.”

The doctors can’t figure out what is causing the abnormality in her blood

Ajay Devgan plays prank on Katrina

Katrina is the latest victim of this serial prankster! Ajay Devgn made his Rajneeti co-star Katrina gift Nana Patekar a cake box containing old underwear, a single chappal and a fake moustache.

Recently, on the sets of Prakash Jha's Rajneeti, Ajay took Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpayee into confidence and pulled a joke on his leading lady.

The trio told the actress that it was Nana Patekar's birthday and they said that since he was in a bad mood, Katrina ought to wish him and present him with a gift box. Poor Katrina wasn't aware that the cake box actually contained some funny items.

A source from the unit reveals, "This prank was Ajay's brain child and he took everyone on the sets in confidence. The trio walked up to Katrina and told her it was Nana's birthday and that they were throwing a party for him. They told her that she had to dress modestly in Indian attire, as Nana was very particular about how women dressed."

Kat hurriedly dressed up in a salwar-kameez and walked up to Nana with a box given by Ajay. "When Nana opened the box he was shocked to find old underwear, a single chappal and a fake moustache as a gift. Kat was horrified."

A source close to Kat adds, "She was embarrassed and turned beet red. Everyone including Ajay, Arjun and Manoj started laughing hysterically. Nana finally told her it was a prank and that she should be more careful with Ajay from now on."

Bollywood Movie – De Dana Dan

Priyadarshan’s next De Dana Dan marks the return of the hilarious cast of the Hera Pheri series Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumarand Suniel Shetty. Sameera Reddy is paired with Suniel Shetty while Katrina is Akshay’s love interest in the film. The story is about two friends Nitin (Akshay Kumar) and Ram (Sunil Shetty) who are basically just a couple of unlucky, good for nothing, lazy paupers. These two lost souls set out in their search for riches untold in an attempt to prove a point to their girlfriends. Unless they earn enough to be able to elope with their respective lady love; they will have to bid adieu to the only bit of luck they have had in their sorry lives.

An ambitious plan is hatched and Moolchandji who happens to be a spoilt dog is kidnapped. The owner, a rich heiress is asked to pay the ransom. Meanwhile, Moolchandji escapes and utter chaos follows.

An assortment of characters are introduced. Chinese Don, a hired assassin, an ACB officer, a club dancer, an ambassador, a young frustrated wife, a letch, a drunken waiter and a dead body nobody wants all add to the mix. A series of twists and turns are anticipated and what happens next is De Dana Dan…… we hope.

Here’s hoping the film does manage to tickle the audiences’ funny bone, considering the type of comedies which have been released lately, we need a good laugh and soon!”

Katrina is back with a new look in Blue

Everyone who’s seen Bollywood Actress Katrina Kaif in the promo of BLUE has been pleasantly surprised by her ‘biker chic’ look.
The pretty bollywood actress who always been portrayed as a girl next door, is for the first time sporting a gothic grunge look with a stud pierced below her lip, dreadlocks and tattoos all over her arms. Kat’s look has been designed to complement Zayed’s character in the film – that of a daredevil biker.

Says a source form the production team, ”Kat was extremely excited about her new look as it’s a huge contrast from her earlier roles. She gave a lot of inputs and worked closely with the designers on minute details.”

But one thing that gave nightmares to Kat is her hairdo! The dreadlocks that she sports cause a lot of damage to one’s hair and Kat was very particular about that. ”She’d immediately go for a hair wash once the shoot would be over” commented a bollywood source working close with the team.

Katrina Kaif floored by young fan

Mumbai, Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif got a little more attention than she bargained for while interacting with fans at the Indian Independence Day parade in Houston. A boy actually knocked her down while trying to reach out to her.

“Yes I was knocked off my feet. And I did fall. And considering it was a 12-year-old boy half my size, it did kinda take me by surprise. But I didn’t mind at all. I guess it showed the force of his love for me,” said Katrina.

The actress is quite sporting and doesn’t mind fans getting close…as long as they don’t get personal.

“When you go for these fan interactions you can’t be finicky about people getting too close and not giving you space, etc etc. They do want to shake hands, get themselves clicked, sign papers. I love to mingle with them. And I did so to my heart’s content in Houston and Chicago. So what if some of them got over-excited? Shows how much they love me,” she said.

Katrina, who has given hits like “Singh is Kinng” and “New York”, loves the interactive spirit at NRI gatherings and thinks a direct one-on-one with fans is a truly exhilarating experience.

“There were kids and there were old people. They all reached out,” the star said.

Katrina's 25th birthday a family affair in London

Katrina's 25th birthday a family affair in London
Katrina Kaif has many reasons to smile. First her recent release 'New York' became a huge success and now comes her birthday, which the British-born actress will celebrate with her entire family in London.

"I'm celebrating my birthday this year with my entire family, all my sisters who have flown down from all over, my mom who's flown down from Chennai and my brother who's a professional rock climber," Katrina, who will turn 25, told us through SMS.

"I was supposed to spend a long holiday with them last year during Christmas and New Year in London, but I had to cut my trip short because of my work schedule. So this year I'm specially taking time out for them and we are going to Italy for a family get together. I haven't had a break in almost two years, so I'm looking forward to this," added the actress.

Last year her birthday bash turned ugly when beau Salman Khan picked a fight with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. So this year Katrina is celebrating her birthday away from tinsel town.

She is just six years old in the industry, but has found a firm foothold.

Katrina's first break in Bollywood was Kaizad Gustad's 2003 'Boom'. Though the film was a flop, people started noticing her and offered her roles and one of them was Ram Gopal Varma's 2005 film 'Sarkar'. She had a small role as Abhishek Bachchan's girlfriend, but made her presence felt in the film, which was a Mumbai underworld interpretation of Mario Puzo's 1969 novel 'The Godfather'.

Katrina's big success came in the form of 2008 super hit film 'Namastey London' and she continued her winning streak with 'Apne', 'Partner', 'Welcome', 'Race' and 'Singh Is Kinng'.

Subhash Ghai's 'Yuvvraaj' disrupted it, but only for a brief period, as Katrina bounced back with the commercial and critical success of Kabir Khan's 'New York', a film about 9/11.

According to film critics, with big banners, huge fan-base and several brand endorsements, Katrina is currently one of the most sought after actresses in the Hindi film industry.

"Katrina has evolved immensely as an actress. In Bollywood, actors are mostly known for the number of hits they deliver. Katrina has won hands down in that respect. She can undoubtedly be called a lucky mascot for her producers," said popular film critic Taran Adarsh.

Mumbai-based film critic Anupama Chopra says there are high expectations from Katrina even this year.

"Katrina has had a fortunate choice of films" even though she "had a rather unfortunate start with 'Boom'. She is a stunning looking actress and so far she is doing well with her glam doll image. We did see glimpses of an actor in her performance-oriented roles in 'Namastey London'," said Chopra.

Her basket is full of good roles - she will be seen in films like 'Blue' starring Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt, Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' and Priyadarshan's 'De Dana Dan' yet again starring Akshay. She is also doing the female lead in Prakash Jha's political drama 'Rajneeti'.

Katrina is one of eight siblings. Her mother is British and her father is from Jammu and Kashmir who has since acquired British citizenship.

The actress spent her formative years in Hawaii but later moved to London.

Complaint against John Abraham's "nude pic";police asked to probe

Complaint against John Abraham's "nude pic";police asked to probe
Bollywood star John Abraham could be in trouble as a city court Tuesday asked Delhi police to file a report on a complaint seeking registration of a criminal case against him for posing allegedly nude in a photograph published in a daily.

Metropolitan Magistrate Ashish Aggarwal directed the station house officer (SHO) of the Moti Nagar police station to submit the report to the court within two weeks.

"Since the complaint alleges commission of cognisable offences under Section 292 and 294 (relating to spread of obscene material) of the Indian Penal Code, the SHO is directed to file his report within two weeks," the court said.

C.M. Dua, who runs an NGO, sought registration of a first information report (FIR) against the model-turned-actor as well as the publisher and the editor of the daily.

"....the lascivious, prurient and obscene acts and photographs being published and shown by established members of society and publication house... tend to corrupt young minds, which is very dangerous and suicidal for the coming generation, if not taken care of," Dua said in his petition.

He said he was appalled to find the magazine supplement of the daily dated June 11, 2009, carrying a "nude photograph" of Abraham at the study desk of his children.

Dua said police had not taken any action on his complaint, prompting him to approach the court.

Bollywood actors John Abraham and Katrina Kaif have been voted as the most eligible single celebrities in an online poll.

The poll conducted by matrimonial website shaadi saw responses from over 18,000 netizens, a statement from the company said Friday.

Nearly 48 percent of males voted for Katrina as the most eligible single female and 43 percent females named John as their favoured eligible bachelor.

While the 'Dostana' actor polled more votes than Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Rahul Gandhi, M.S. Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh, Katrina scored over divas like Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Sonam Kapoor.

"It's nice to see the way our members' preferences for an ideal partner have changed drastically. Its not just about looks and fashion trends but about power and higher social standing that makes a person more attractive and appealing," Gourav Rakshit, business head of shaadi, said.
