Flying Pals For Asin

She has dreams (London, or otherwise) of making it bigger in cinebiz. Asin, the Southern import who sparkled to success with 'Ghajini', recently bought herself a sprawling apartment at Lokhandwala, in the swanky suburbs of Mumbai. Her friendship with Sridevi and her two daughters has been well documented in tabloids. If she does get too pally with Boney too, well, it will simply be a Boney of contention between Sridevi and her.

But apart from human beings, Asin has taken to being friendly with a posse of parrots who have built their nest outside her window. Apparently, she feeds them guavas herself and those flying delights love pecking at their food from her manicured hands. Happy parrots. And rivals remaining green with envy over Asin.

Asin: Too early to talk about SRK project!

One of the most promising actress to have made a mark with her very first film, Asin, is the new flavour of the season as the hype for her second film, LONDON DREAMS (which she prefers to call her first real Hindi film), gets bigger and better with each passing day. And the media too is having a field day as Asin is going all out to promote her film and is handling it very well, a trait which she seems to have learnt from her GHAJINI co-star, Aamir Khan.
Despite this there are speculations in the press and media about Asin's next few projects and since she has already worked with the two Khans, Aamir and Salman, so naturally rumours are rife of a possible third one with Bollywood's global super star, Shahrukh Khan. Well, the intelligent actress answered the question while talking to a fellow print media journalist.

As per Asin, right now all her focus is on her 19th film (including regional), LONDON DREAMS, and as far working with Shahrukh Khan is concerned, she feels it is too early to talk about it and she prefers neither to deny nor confirm it.

Right Asin, we will also prefer to hear it from you directly, rather than from dubious sources!

I would never do something vulgar: Asin (Film Snippets)I would never do something vulgar: Asin (Film Snippets)

New Delhi, Oct 22 (IANS) Southern beauty Asin, who is looking forward to her mega budget Bollywood release 'London Dreams', says she chooses her roles carefully as she doesn't want to do anything vulgar or indecent.

'I would never do something that is baseless, vulgar and indecent... something I am not comfortable doing and therefore can't do justice with,' Asin told IANS.

'When I choose a film, my criteria are script, role, director, producer and then co-artist. Language or financial issues never determine what film I want to do,' she added.

The 23-year-old made her debut in Hindi movies opposite superstar Aamir Khan in the hit film 'Ghajini' last year.

Asin declines Farah’s offer for a movie with SRK

Asin, who has always expressed a desire to work SRK after having worked with Salman and Aamir Khan, recently turned down Farah Khan’s offer. Farah had asked her if she wanted to do her film, Happy New Year opposite Shah Rukh but Asin refused.

Farah has been in touch with her ever since Asin appeared on Farah’s show. Farah had asked to think about the offer carefully. Asin was very keen on it at the beginning but she spoke to her father and then refused the offer citing date issues.

Now that Asin is out of the race for the female lead in Happy New Year, the other top Bollywood heroines, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are all eyeing the role.

Asin's hidden truths revealed only now!

Here's a side to Asin that only her family members know.
A source said, "Asin is actively associated with various NGOs in Kerela and Chennai. She secretly visits these NGOs whenever she finds the time. She loves being actively involved with all the charity work that they do."

Asin personally looks into the disabled and the needy. "But Asin does not like to talk about all this. These things are not meant to be spoken about. She has been doing this for years now and has been a regular visitor to the various institutions in Chennai and Kerela.

Being philanthropic is Asin's second nature and she puts her heart and soul in it."

Hey Asin, since we now know of your philanthropic side, we wish you keep up the good work.

Asin's word power!!

When it comes to word power Asin's an ace at it! No wonder Scrabble is her favourite game. ''Scrabble is Asin's favourite indoor game. If she has time on hand and is at home you see Asin busy playing Scrabble. She loves to dabble with words,'' said a source.
Scrabble has enhanced Asin's word power.

''The game has made her master new words. Asin is already very good with the English language; Scrabble has only improved it further. She loves playing all sorts of word games and is a pro at them!'' said the source.

Infact not many know that Asin is a master at seven languages. The actress is well-versed with not only the South Indian languages but also French, English, Hindi and Sanskrit. ''Asin was good at languages right since her school days. She used to pick up foreign languages very quickly. It was a talent that she was born with. Infact, she dubs for all her movies herself and does not depend on a dubbing artist,'' said a source.

Asin declines to promote vegetarianism

"Ghajini" fame actress Asin Thottumkal has turned down animal welfare group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA) request to promote vegetarianism. She said she is a hardcore non-vegetarian and, therefore, it would be unfair to accept the offer.

"After I entered the film industry, I restricted my non-veg diet to fish and chicken. I can't, however, remain without non-veg food even for a single day. Therefore, it won't be proper for me to involve myself in the campaign against non-vegetarian food," said Asin.

From time to time, PETA ropes in celebrities and puts them in the forefront of its campaign to popularise vegetarian food habits. Aishwarya Rai and Manisha Koirala are among the few Bollywood actors who have lent their support to the campaign.

Spotlight: Asin Thottumkal

After a splendid show in 'Ghajini', Asin is all set to rock Bollywood with the Hindi version of 'Dasavathaaram', releasing this week. 2009 will see Asin in big projects like 'London Dreams' opposite Salman Khan and '19 Steps' opposite Kamal Haasan.

First Look: 'London Dreams'

'London Dreams' stars Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Asin.

Vipul Shah's 'London Dreams' is the story of a rock band with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan essaying roles of rock stars. Asin plays Salman Khan's love interest.

Says Asin on shooting near Eiffel Tower: "We were shooting a song in Paris near the De Luvre Museum. A wacky song, which goes "Man ko adhik bhave saiyyas, dil taa thaiyaa, haaye re", has Salman wooing me and at the end of the song he proposes to me. It was freezing in the nights with chilly winds. But the song is so funny, it was great shooting for it."

'London Dreams' will be the first ever film to feature a blue-colored Eiffel Tower. France had marked the start of its six-month presidency of the European Union by lighting up the Eiffel Tower in blue with yellow stars in spirit with the EU flag.

The movie will release on August 14, 2009.
