Rajini bikes it to save time

Displaying his down to earth nature once again, superstar Rajinikanth on Monday night took a pillion ride on a bike to beat the traffic and make it in time to the shooting location of his upcoming movie, Enthiran. The entire crew including director Shankar and Aishwarya Rai were waiting inside the Ennore port for him to arrive, but the superstar found himself stuck in a traffic jam just two kilometres away from the location. The traffic was unexpectedly heavy at North Chennai on Monday and Rajinikanth reportedly waited for a long time for the roads to clear. But it did not happen. He kept his crew informed about the situation. According to unit sources, there were talks about cancellation of shooting due to absence of the hero at the location.

When Shankar suggested that he would cancel shooting for half a day, Rajinikanth insisted that he would try to make it on time. With the whole unit waiting, the superstar did not want to disappoint anyone and was frantically looking for a way out. That is when Shankar asked the superstar if he would travel to the location on a bike if he were to send someone from the crew and Rajinikanth immediately agreed. An insider told this newspaper, “Rajinikanth was against cancellation of shooting and was ready to leave his luxury car behind and to travel by bike to reach the location.”

Immediately four stunt artistes took their bikes and reached the spot where the actor was stuck. The superstar was given a helmet and jacket to wear. He then jumped on the pillion of a bike and reached the shooting spot. “He must have travelled nearly two km on the two wheeler to reach the spot,” a unit member said.
