David Dhawan Wraps up Shooting of Hook Ya Crook

This one is a strange case. It seems that director David dhawan has managed to wrap up the shooting of his forthcoming film, Hook Ya Crook much ahead of schedule, leaving everyone surprised.

According to reports, the director finished shooting his film, 27 days ahead of schedule, which is quite a feat. The cast and crew of Hook Ya Crook were parked at Hyderabad's Ramoji Rao Film City for the film's shooting for a while now. In fact, one had heard reports about how the males in the cast, which included John Abraham and Kay Kay Menon, had all bonded very well and spent their free time working out together or playing cricket. Guess the bonhomie on the sets seems to have worked wonders on the productivity of the cast and crew. Kudos to the director for managing to work so efficiently and complete his film in record time. As for lead actor, John Abraham, he is believed to be quite shocked at how Dhawan managed the impossible. He is now planning to use this time to get into shape, physically and mentally for his next movie, which is Abbas Tyrewala's 1 800 Love. The director has even organized a workshop for John ahead of the film's shooting. The film will see Tyrewala's wife, Pakhi, making her acting debut alongside John.

Akshay backed out of 'Life Partner' over fee: Rumi Jafry

Writer-turned-director Rumi Jafry had finalised Akshay Kumar for his second film 'Life Partner', but says the star, who is known to charge exorbitant fees, backed out of the project on monetary issues.

'Akshay had a huge role in 'Life Partner'. He had already said yes to the role and all dates were fixed. He was equally excited but due to price issues between him and the producers Abbas-Mustan he backed out of the project,' Jafry told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

'I also discussed the matter with Abbas-bhai but he said 'to let him go' as they could not settle on a price. We then roped in Govinda and luckily the role has come out very well,' the director added.

The film marks director duo Abbas-Mustan's entry as producers for filmmakers other than themselves.

'Life Partner' is a comedy and Jafry, who as a writer has been associated with comedies throughout his career, says audiences expect him to deliver funny films as a director too.

'Taking my previous record into account, audiences expect comedies from me and I deliver that. But I always try to and will keep a Hrishi-da (Mukherjee) touch in my movies with a message infused with laughter in all of them,' said Jafry, who has scripted hit romantic comedies like 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' (2004), 'Hero No.1' (1997) and 'Coolie No.1' (1995).

Set in Cape Town, South Africa, the film deals with the theme of 'marriage' and stars Tusshar Kapoor, Prachi Desai, Fardeen Khan, Genelia D'Souza and Govinda in pivotal roles.

Tusshar plays a Gujarati guy who believes in arranged marriage and Prachi plays his wife, while Fardeen's character believes in love marriage and is paired with Genelia.

Govinda plays a divorce lawyer, who doesn't believe in the convention of marriage at all. The film also has a surprise element - the actress opposite Govinda.

'The film is about relationships and is an out-and-out comedy. Like all my films, even this one has a message - marriage is an essential part of life. As the world is progressing, relationships are crumbling and are not that deep any more. I'm sure it will leave the audiences thinking without compromising on their laughter,' Jafry said.

What is interesting is that he zeroed in on the story after it was given a 'sensible' nod by superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

'I came out with the idea for the movie while I was writing 'Chalte Chalte' (2003) in Greece. I was discussing it with Shah Rukh (Khan) and Rani (Mukerji) and Shah Rukh asked me to make a film on it. He gave such a positive reaction to it and considering his sensibility and understanding of scripts, I realised I should go for it,' he said.

Told that the storyline sounds similar to the 1982 film 'Shriman Shrimati', Jafry said: 'I haven't even heard of any such movie. Now that you've said it, I'll have to watch it. There's no other inspiration behind 'Life Partner' than the crumbling of relationships.'

The movie was completed very quickly. 'It took me five years to complete my first project, so I made sure to wrap up the second in only five months,' quipped Jafry.

'Life Partner' was slated to release May 1, but has been pushed forward due to the ongoing revenue-sharing tussle between producers and multiplexes.

Karan Johar does not plagiarize

Karan Johar does not plagiarize
Karan Johar is known to make over the top movies with huge star casts and sets, he’s done it all but there is one thing that the superstar has not done and he doesn’t intend to either, plagiarize! Whenever Karan puts his name on to a film or a movie he makes sure its completely authentic.

So what about his next film with Kareena and Kajol in the lead which is said to be based on the Hollywood film Stepmom? He just went about and bought the rights to the film from the producers. Karan does not want to get into any type of allegations and so has made a smart move by doing this.

Hollywood is getting wiser to the tactics of Bollywood filmmakers who use their ideas to spin movies off in India and put their trademark on it. the makers of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button had even placed a warning in the papers to all those who try and copy the film.

So Karan has saved himself from all the allegations and even embarrassment this way.

Dil Chahta Hai team has a fallout

Dil Chahta Hai team has a fallout
Shahrukh Khan may not be the reigning best anymore with all the new superstars and the khans getting better with every film, but he still knows how to play the game! The cold war between him and Aamir has been going on for a long time but he is still determined to play the game.

Aamir who was slated to play the lead in Reema Kagti’s next film was adding huge star value to the already existing cast, so naturally the smart khan was bound to ask for a whopper. So when Ritesh Sidhwani, the producer of the film, approached Aamir to discuss the sensitive matters of pay and finances, he was shocked to find Aamir making big demands and asking for a sizeable percentage of the profits.

The source mentions that “Ritesh had gone to meet Aamir on the sets of 3 Idiots to finalise the deal, but was seen storming out of the sets after what apparently was a misunderstanding over term and conditions.”

Farhan and Ritesh were like family and after making cult films like Dil Chahta Hai they never worked together again. But now looks like the fall out could have some effect on their relationships as well.

Ritesh Sidhwani confirmed the happenings saying “Yes it is true that we were working on the film with Aamir and were supposed to start it but now it is not happening.”

Abhishek Bachchan playing Amitabh's father in 'Pa'?

Abhishek Bachchan playing Amitabh's father in 'Pa'?
Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan is said to be playing his megastar father Amitabh's father in the upcoming movie "Pa", reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Those working on the production are not permitted to speak about the film as per contractual rules. However, a source from the production house has revealed that "Amitabh plays an alienated and slightly retarded son of Abhishek" in the film.

Helmed by adman-turned-director R. Balakrishnan, popularly known as Balki, the film has its sets shrouded in secrecy and especially Big B's look in the film.

The 66-year-old spends around five hours a day in make-up prosthetics specially created by make-up men flown in from London and the whole project is being kept under wraps at present, with no-one from outside the unit being allowed on set.

Kareena works for 36 hours without a break

Kareena works for 36 hours without a break
The fans usually just look at the fame and interesting lifestyle that the film stars have and tend to overlook the hard work put in by them.

Recently Kareena Kapoor, one of the most successful actresses in filmdom, had to shoot for 36 hours without a break.

The actress has a chock-a-block schedule thanks to films like "Kambakkht Ishq", "3 Idiots", "Agent Vinod", "Mr. and Mrs. Khanna" and an untitled movie by Rensil D'silva in her kitty. She just went rushing from one set to another.

Kareena shot continuously without complaining about tiredness or any lack of sleep. Onlookers said that this is what stars are made of and it was a really good gesture from the actress to shoot without any complaints.

Stunning pics of Soha Ali Khan

Soha Ali Khan will not any more be introduced in Bollywood as “the cute li’l sis of Saif”. Post ‘Rang De’ and ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’, Soha has been looked upon as an actress par excellence. The Nawabzaadi is getting ready for her new release, ‘99’, which is supposed to be “an unpredictable and hilarious ride spread over two cities with colorful characters, unbelievable circumstances, small-time crooks, big-time conspiracies, fateful car crashes, loads of coffee, a briefcase full of money, a budding romance…and a historical controversy brewing in the background!”
In spite of being the critics’ favourite, Soha has not really been on the books of the B.O. gods of Bollywood. ‘99’, which is slated for a May 7 release, is expected to break the jinx.

Salman's Image Makeover

Earlier we had informed about Salman Khan graciously allowing his producer Boney Kapoor to use a special track in his voice for the promotion oh his forthcoming film WANTED.
Now, We hear Salman Khan has joined the cause for the hit-and-run victims. Remember Salman Khan was earlier booked in a hit-and-run case in 2002 for which he had go through a long drawn legal battle. Now, ironical it may sound, but the fact is that apna Sallu Bhai has shot a 90 sec ad film highlighting the need for responsible driving.

Well, sounds like Salman has turned into a new leaf altogether. Going by all the news this Khan is making, looks like Salman's image is getting a fast paced makeover.

Genelia acts pricey

Instant stardom is a great way of developing unnecessary tantrums. This is what has happened to dear Genelia D'Souza. We hear that a well known designer who wanted Genelia to try his outfits for a shoot was subjected to starry tantrums by the beauty, so much so that he felt harassed. We also hear Genelia's mum, who was accompanying her preferred her daughter to stay in the car than go inside the store to try the outfits.
Well, must say it surely takes some guts to behave this way. But, we wonder how long can Genelia carry on with such tantrums given the fact that she has delivered only a single big hit in Bollywood so far.

John Abraham, Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif were also chosen to participate in filmmaker Karan Johar's vote campaign video. But at the last moment, the trio couldn't be a part of it for various reasons.

'That's true. Earlier on, John and Bipasha were all set to be a part of this video that has been created to spread awareness around voting this election season. Even Katrina was finalised but in the final scheme of things, we had to shoot the video without them. Such a pity,' said director Tarun Mansukhani.

The 'Vote Aapke Haath Mein Hai' video finally starred Abhishek Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapur, Imran Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Asin, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor and Karan himself.

So what really went wrong?

'If you are searching for any controversies, then there aren't any. In fact, it wasn't even the matter of anyone opting out. All three were quite sweet and were game to shoot for the video. But then on the day of the shoot, John and Katrina were not in town due to which we had to go ahead without them,' said Mansukhani.

How about Bipasha?

'Well, her 'Aa Dekhen Zara' was being released on the same day when we had to shoot for the video,' the director said.

Dia Mirza hopes to make it big with 'Acid Factory'

After having done bit roles in not-so-successful films like 'Cash' and 'Krazzy 4', actress Dia Mirza now pins her hopes on forthcoming multi-starrer 'Acid Factory' in which she has performed several stunts on her own.

''Acid Factory' is one of my biggest films. I really worked hard for the film and can't wait to see the promos on air,' Dia, who made her Bollywood debut in 2001 with 'Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein', said in a press statement.

In the film, Dia is the only female character and has performed several stunts on her own alongside actors Fardeen Khan, Irrfan Khan, Manoj Bajpai, Dino Morea and Aftab Shivdasani.

Directed by Suparn Varma, the film is produced by Sanjay Gupta. There were reports that Dia had developed differences with the makers of 'Acid Factory' due to the delay in releasing the film, but the beauty queen-turned-actress denies it.

She said: 'The film is releasing as scheduled - winter 2009. It's a big release and they (the filmmakers) have a grand plan for the marketing of the film. The shooting of the film is complete and it is in the post production stage now.'

Please keep your distance! Says Prachi

Please keep your distance! Says Prachi
Prachi Desai was a little bit uncomfortable with Tusshar Kapoor on the sets of Life Partner. News is that when Tusshar and Prachi had to do an intimate scene for the movie Prachi was really uncomfortable and went into ‘don’t touch me’ mode. Tusshar Kapoor’s ego was a little hurt after this incident and he tried talking to her but failed so he unresistingly told the media.

“She is just a 20-year-old girl yaar and a shy one at that, What could I have done other than wait for the passage of time? I tried talking to her and get into frequent chats. She was a lot into ‘Don’t touch me’ and ‘Don’t get too close to me’ mode,”. Prachi and Tusshar were advised to have dinner and get to be friends off camera because in the film both of them play a married couple. Director Rumi Jaffrey suggested that the two establish an offscreen relationship.

One would think that the two would share a good relationship as Prachi and Ektaa Kapoor are really good friends, but that is not the case “She did come to our house earlier as well but we didn’t interact much. We seldom got into any conversations.” Says Tusshar.

Life Partner is set for a June or July release and so we’ll just have to wait for the movie to see what really happens.

Bollywood legend Feroz Khan dies at 70

Succumbs to Cancer

Legendary actor and director Feroz Khan died late on Sunday night in his Bangalore farmhouse. He was 70.

The actor had been diagnosed with cancer over a year ago. Feroz Khan directed and produced successful Hindi films such as Dharmaatma, Qurbani and Jaanbaaz.

The last film he starred in was the blockbuster hit Welcome in 2007. He is survived by his son Fardeen and daughter Laila.

Feroz Khan was born and brought up in Bangalore. He made his debut as second lead in Didi (1960). His first big hit was in 1965 with the release of Oonche Log.

He produced, directed and starred in the 1975 -77 film Dharmatma which was the first Indian film to be shot in Afghanistan and was also his first blockbuster hit as producer, director and actor.

Salman, Arbaaz Khan in 'Prem Kaa Game'

Salman, Arbaaz Khan in 'Prem Kaa Game'
The Khan brothers - Salman and Arbaaz - will be teaming up after almost four years in the film 'Prem Kaa Game'.

Salman, who will be seen throughout the narrative of the film, will be advising Arbaaz's character, Prem, how to stray in marriage.

The two were earlier seen together in David Dhawan's romantic comedy 'Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya?' in 2005.

Jailbirds of Bollywood: John Abraham and Neil Mukesh

Jailbirds of Bollywood: John Abraham and Neil Mukesh
Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham, who will be seen together in 'New York', are shooting at the same venue in Maharashtra's Karjat town for two different films on life in jail, but they aren't meeting each other.
"To be honest I have hardly had the chance to meet John here, although we're shooting just a hop and skip away from each other. In all this time maybe we've met just once," Neil told us.

The interesting part is that the two adjacent sets at Nitin Desai's studio in Karjat represent huge prison sets. While Madhur Bhandarkar is shooting 'Jail' on one prison set, David Dhawan is shooting scenes in a prison with John Abraham for 'Hook Ya Crook' next door.

Desperate attempts are being made to keep the cast and crew of one film away from the other to ensure there's no creative overlapping or duplication from one to the other.

The fact that gym buddies John and Neil aren't fraternizing although they are shooting a breath away is ample proof that the two units have decided to stay away from each other with their respective prison secrets.

This, after spending all their free time together in Philadelphia when they were shooting for 'New York' and later in Mumbai where they gymed together.

After all, it's about creativity.
Incidentally, Kabir Khan's 'New York' has a prison scene where John is stripped and tortured for being a suspected terrorist. Neil too bares all for 'Jail' and is similarly tortured for crimes he hasn't committed.

With one prison story resembling another without trying, is it any wonder that best buddies John and Neil are staying away from each other and not exchanging notes over their prison stories?

Prakash Jha to make film on poll experience

Prakash Jha to make film on poll experience
He was arrested following reports that he was distributing money to voters in his constituency in Bihar and claims he was harassed by the administration a day before the polls. Filmmaker-turned-politician Prakash Jha is now set to write a film on his election experience as a Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) candidate.

"It's great entertainment. And for me my cinema has always been a mirror of the wider reality. During 'Gangaajal' I took on Sadhu Yadav when he alleged I had used real-life Bihar politics in the film. Now I've taken him on at the elections."

Jha is pitted against Sadhu Yadav, a Congress nominee and brother-in-law of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad who quit the Rashtriya Janata Dal after he was denied a ticket.
He was arrested on Wednesday and subsequently released after the Bihar police recovered Rs.10.25 lakhs (over Rs.1 million) in cash following reports that he was distributing money to voters in the West Champaran constituency. Jha has vehemently denied the allegations and says it was an attempt to discredit him among the people of Bihar a day before the polls.
"First of all, the police did not raid my election base in Champaran. They raided my sugar factory - the Maurya Sugar Factory - not my electoral headquarters. And that money was the salary for the workers of my sugar mill," Jha asserted.
The director, who has made films like 'Gangaajal' and 'Apaharan', claims the local administration has been harassing him.
"I'd like to put it on record that I'm being harassed by the local administration. A day before the elections in Champaran I wasn't allowed to move around freely on the road even on a two-wheeler. But I'm confident all these attempts to malign and obstruct me will only add votes to my name," Jha said.

John Abraham goes international with 'American Empire'

John Abraham goes international with 'American Empire'
John Abraham is all set to venture into international cinema with gangster flick, 'American Empire'.
John Abraham, who earlier earned rave reviews in the Deepa Mehta's Oscar nominated film 'Water', is currently reading the script of the film.

"I am pretty excited about the film. Right now I am reading the script and dwelling into the details of my character. I am really glad to be a part of it," Abraham told us. He was in the city to judge Castrol Power-1 passion hunt.
The actor, however, did not disclose much about his role in the film which reportedly revolves around young woman and her hitman boyfriend.
The gangster drama will be directed by Director Andy Armstrong, who last made TV series 'The New Adventures of Robin Hood'. Armstrong will portray a bizarre picture of underworld with eccentric characters, angst and violence.
The 36-year-old actor, who is riding high on the success of gay-comedy 'Dostana', hopes that the sequel of the film will also charm the audiences.
But Abraham did not confirm whether he would be a part of the sequel.

"Dostana-2 is definitely on. I really can't confirm if I am a part of it but I am hoping for the best," the actor said.

Who is Priyanka Chopra's mystery boyfriend?

Who is Priyanka Chopra's mystery boyfriend?
She has been linked with three actors - Hurman S. Baweja, Shahid Kapur and Hollywood star Gerard Butler of '300' fame - all within a span of one year, but the mystery behind Bollywood's svelte actress Priyanka Chopra's actual love interest continues.
The rumour mills started working overtime after Butler, whom she met at the launch of the Atlantis hotel in Dubai last year, was quoted as saying in a leading daily: "I don't mind getting married to an Indian girl. Too bad Priyanka already has a boyfriend".
Now, who that boyfriend is, remains to be known.
Though rumours of a romantic liaison between Shahid and Priyanka have been in the grapevine lately after their joint appearance at filmmaker Tarun Mansukhani's birthday party in Mumbai last week, neither has confirmed the development.
The two will be seen together in Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Kaminay'.

"Priyanka has always maintained silence on her private affairs. Till date, she has never gone public about her personal life and she will continue to do so," a source close to the actress told us.

Even when news of her affair with her 'Love Story 2050' co-star Hurman was doing the rounds, Priyanka remained politically correct. While Hurman was very vocal about their relationship as well as their break-up, the supermodel-turned-actress chose not to speak about it.

Now, the news about the friendship between Priyanka and Butler, who is currently in Jaipur, is raising eyebrows.
But the source clarifies: "He (Butler) is in Jaipur with four of his friends as part of an India tour.
"He came to Jaipur and knew that Priyanka was shooting and staying at Shiv Vilas for her film 'What's Your Rashee?'. So he came to the sets to meet her as they are good friends and to see what an Indian film shoot looks like. He also met all important people on the sets and was also introduced to Ashutosh (Gowariker) and Hurman. Priyanka and him are just friends only," the source said.

Butler, who played the role of King Spartan in '300', has also been linked to former 'Friends' star Jennifer Aniston, which he has denied.

The Khans' Fame Spreads Far and Wide

The Khans of Bollywood seem to be have really made a name for themselves outside the shores of India. One is not talking about their popularity with the NRIs only. Even the bigwigs of Hollywood are aware of their existence.

In fact, even a reputed director like Ron Howard is believed to have said that he is aware of the three Khans of Bollywood, Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman. Much of that credit would go to Danny Boyle and his Slumdog Millionaire which has really shifted the focus to India and Indian actors. In fact, Howard is believed to have also said that he would be keen to cast an Indian actor in his forthcoming projects. Without revealing names, the director is believed to have said that he is aware of the beautiful Indian actresses and the three Khans. With Indian suddenly in everyone's face after Boyle's film swept the Oscars, it would be a little difficult to ignore the country and its talented actors. But it is not just the Khans, who have made their presence felt in the West. Actors like Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Irrfan Khan, Aishwariya Rai, Tabu along with music maestro AR Rahman, directors of Indian origin like Mira Nair, Deepa Mehta and Gurinder Chaddha have made sure that India has always had a place in world cinema. Today with the world looking at Indian cinema, it would be nice to even remember maestros like the late V Shantaram, Raj Kapoor and Satyajit Ray, and of course, the great Amitabh Bachchan, who pioneered Indian cinema in the West. That day does not seem far off when one of the Khans may be working in a Hollywood film directed by one of the Hollywood greats like Howard.!

Akshay missing as multiplexes re-release JA, CHAK DE, METRO, RDB

Ok, so it is indeed turning out to be horrific times for multiplexes. While producers would still be releasing their films once the stand off is resolved, and at maximum would incur losses of a few lakhs through interest being paid on their finished products, they still have chances of recovering that money if these films turn out to be good successes. However, for multiplexes which thrive on their daily feed of audience, it has been pathetic times indeed with 3/4/5/6 films releasing every weekend and barely running for 3/4/5/6 shows.
With empty chairs staring multiplex owners and some auditoriums screening films for even a single person (I have been a witness to that for at least a couple of movies), multiplexes have been left with no choice but go back to the blockbusters from the past. At least some multiplexes up North have been forced to resort to this measure as movies like JODHAA AKBAR, CHAK DE INDIA, LIFE IN A METRO and RANG DE BASANTI are being readied for a re-release this Friday.

There are expectations of at least 10%-20% auditorium occupancy for such films, which sounds like a luxury at the moment considering majority of films released in the recent past have been registering less than 5% collections. Also, all these four aforementioned films have been money spinner in the past and have found loyal audiences for themselves over the years, both theatrically as well as on home video.

A point to be noted though is that a certain Akshay Kumar is missing in this elite list of movies being re-released. Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan as well as Shilpa Shetty and Co. are being entrusted to bring the audience back but it's surprising not to see an Akshay Kumar starrer being ignored. Though it would have been a good idea to return with a WELCOME or a SINGH IS KINNG, strangely that hasn't been the case.

One just hopes that it wasn't a well thought of decision and just a matter of releasing whatever best the multiplexes were having in hand at the time of picking and choosing a film.

ROCK ON sequel can wait

Abhishek Kapoor has no immediate plans to work on his debut film ROCK ON sequel. The Filmfare Award winner filmmaker has been flooded with many offers post the film's super success but he is preferring to take it easy and not rush in for a sequel to cash on his cult film's success story unlike others.
Kapoor however does admit to be working on something really interesting which he chooses not to reveal so soon. "I shall definitely share it to all when the time is right. It is too early to disclose anything now." he told us.

Ask him about the many live concerts his ROCK ON producer-cum-hero Farhan Akhtar is involved with and why not him, he replies, "Farhan is just giving back to the people what they enjoyed most from the movie ROCK ON. Its main aspect was the music that helped connect people all over the country. He's just trying to keep the magic of the movie alive."

We just wish he comes out with as good film as ROCK ON in his next

Strange as our headlines may seem, but they are hundred percent correct. As is known, actress Kareena Kapoor was in Chandigarh last weekend for shooting an ad film, being directed by her favourite, Imtiaz Ali, of JAB WE MET fame.

The shooting location was a wheat field in village Panhudi near Mallapur (Chandigarh). Just to ensure that Bebo dear was not bitten by an insect or a vermin, pesticides were sprayed in abundance on the fully harvested crop! Not only that, the path that Kareena was supposed to take for reaching the exact shooting venue was also fumigated.

Unfortunately, Kareena was not happy with the location and so pack up was announced and she returned to Mumbai, where the rest of the ad film will be shot.

Mugdha Godse seems to be the flavour of the season! The supermodel has been seen sizzling ramps across India as a showstopper for several leading designers at the recently concluded fashion weeks! First it was the capital city of Delhi where she was the showstopper for Satya Paul in a beautiful elegant saree, then the leggy lady attended the fashion week in aamchi Mumbai with a trendy ensemble for Narendra Kumar finally wrapping up with a scintillating green gown in Kolkata for a drama added entry for designers Gauri Nainika!

'Pasanga', produced by 'Subrahmanyapuram' Sasikumar, is almost complete and is as unconventional as his first attempt. The film is an action thriller directed by Pandiraj, a former assistant of Cheran; it stars newcomer Vimal and Vega Tamotia (of Saroja fame) in lead roles and a host of children.

Kareena-Shahid won't disappoint as pair in 'Milenge Milenge'

were a hit pair in 'Jab We Met' and the actress says they won't disappoint fans as an on-screen couple in their much delayed 'Milenge Milenge' either.

"I know people have expectations from us individually and as a pair. And they won't be disappointed. It's a very sweet film. And not dated at all though it got delayed. I'm as proud of 'Milenge Milenge' as I am of any of my films," said Kareena, who is currently dating actor Saif Ali Khan.

The romantic comedy by director Satish Kaushik has been in the making since 2005.

Defying all talk that she has been sidelining her only pending assignment with Shahid, Kareena said she had been running in and out of the studio to complete the dubbing before she leaves for a shoot in New York.

"We're all professionals here. For me it doesn't matter who the leading man in 'Milenge Milenge' is. For me what is important is that I made a commitment to two of my favourite people in the industry - producer Boney Kapoor and director Satish Kaushik - who've stood by me from the beginning of my career. How can I let them down? Boney wants a summer release for his film. I've to complete my dubbing before I leave," said Kareena.

"I'm running in and out of two dubbing studios. I've already completed most of the dubbing," she added.

'Milenge Milenge' is special because the former couple will be seen together after Imtiaz Ali's lovable 'Jab We Met' in 2007.

Mandira Bedi is back, and she is brandishing the willow!

The ebullient Punjabi kudi with twinkling eyes has almost completely abandoned the big screen now (or is it the other way round?), but her fans have nothing to worry about. Mandira seems to have dug out a career in cricket!

A self-confessed cricket addict, Mandira started off her "cricketing career" as anchor to 'Extraa Innings', a TV show during the cricket World Cups of 2003 and 2007.

From a historical perspective, Mandira is the only star from Bollywood to have made a mark in Indian Cricket!!!

Hrithik Roshan and ace choreographer Ganesh Hegde created magic with the dance moves in 'Koi Mil Gaya' and the two have teamed up again - but this time for a TV commercial for popular biscuit brand Hide-n-Seek.

'The commercial required a radically different sound concept and what Ganesh conceived, composed and executed was brilliant,' Hrithik said in a statement.

'Working on the commercial with Ganesh was a gift from god. After three agonising years with damaged knees, managing to justify his genius choreography was extremely challenging. I'm happy to say that this one is going to be our best yet and the entire credit goes to Ganesh,' said the actor, who underwent a knee surgery last year.

The TV ad will be aired later this month.

Anil Kapoor Begins Shoot for American TV Show Next Month

Actor Anil Kapoor, whose film career has received an alltime boost with the success of Slumdog Millionaire, has been milking it for all its worth. Lady Luck also seems to be shining on him. Actor Irrfan Khan, who was also in the movie and is a known face internationally, could not manage to get even half that much attention. In fact, it would not be wrong to say that he was overlooked as Anil suddenly became the new star.

AR Rahman won the Oscar, and it has been Anil who has been giving more interviews than the maestro. Well, Anil does not have another Hollywood film in hand, but what he does have is a TV show in US. The actor has reportedly been signed on for the TV show 24, where he will be playing a Middle Eastern leader. He begins shooting for it next month. The actor will be accompanied by his own makeup guy and has made it a point to include this fact in his contract with the show. Apparently, he has a winner on hands as his children are the ones who have given him the go ahead for the movie. Earlier, it was on his children's insistence that he accepted Danny Boyle's offer for Slumdog Millionaire. Incidentally, 24 is an action packed series, which stars Keifer Sutherland in the lead.

Shahid going Shah Rukh's way!

Fashion fever catches up fast in Bollywood!
From quite sometime we have been observing Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan carrying a new style statement - a kaifiyeh scarf wrapped up around his neck. And he seems to be so-much-so obsessed with it that almost at every public appearance he makes, we can see King Khan in a new scarf.

Now it looks like Bollywood's cool dude Shahid Kapur is highly inspired by SRK's style. Recently the young lad Shahid at DOSTANA fame director Tarun Mansukhani's birthday bash, where he came along with his supposed-to-be girlfriend Priyanka Chopra, was spotted wearing a multicoloured scarf. And it was not only Shahid who came in scarf but his girlfriend Priyanka also accompanied him in a garish looking scarf around her neck.

The star-studded Tarun's birthday party also included couple Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder, Ritesh Deshmukh in his INDIA 24/7 look, Bobby Deol - who preferred to stay away from media, Manish Malhotra - who walked in with a friend and DOSTANA producer Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor walked in the last hand-in-hand.

Mallika Sherawat: Mingling with the Best!

Looks like Mallika Sherawat is a favourite in the 'West'!
Last we heard was that the actress was invited as a special guest at a Wine-Tasting Luncheon at the Malibu Family Wines, Malibu, California. Mallika was also 'auctioned' there as part of a fundraiser hosted by IFFLA (Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles).

And now, while the sexy actress is in Los Angeles for the post-production work on her much-talked about project HISSSS with Hollywood Director Jennifer Lynch, she recently attended an elite luncheon hosted by the Mayor of LA.

And though the gorgeous lady has been in the city for only four short weeks, she is already rubbing shoulders with the who's who of the glamorous city.

She will also be attending the weekend's Fangoria Conference at the LA Convention Center to talk about HISSSS and interact with fans there.

Well, seems like Mallika Sherawat is not just a favourite among the Hollywood celebrities but is a regular on the U.S social circuit too!
