Vivek Oberoi is going through the longest dry spell of his career and with no movies in sight it seemed that this actor was not going to get the limelight for a long time! But until now. Ram Gopal Varma has once again donned the hat of the saviour by stepping in and giving Vivek Oberoi the lead role in his explosive new movie.

Vivek has been offered the role of a rebel turned politician named Paritala Ravi in the new film ‘Rakta Charitra’ and deals with the story of a rebel from the jungles rising to the position of a minister in NT Rama Rao’s Cabinet. Ravi was a rebel, a killer of hundreds and yet a saviour of the thousands who still come to pay homage at his grave. After surviving several assassination attempts, Ravi was gunned down by a death squad allegedly put together by his arch rival Suri who wanted to avenge his father's and brother's deaths.

Ramu feels that Vivek will bring justice to his role and his remarkable intensity, commanding voice and arrogance will do justice to the role.
