The Khans' Fame Spreads Far and Wide

The Khans of Bollywood seem to be have really made a name for themselves outside the shores of India. One is not talking about their popularity with the NRIs only. Even the bigwigs of Hollywood are aware of their existence.

In fact, even a reputed director like Ron Howard is believed to have said that he is aware of the three Khans of Bollywood, Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman. Much of that credit would go to Danny Boyle and his Slumdog Millionaire which has really shifted the focus to India and Indian actors. In fact, Howard is believed to have also said that he would be keen to cast an Indian actor in his forthcoming projects. Without revealing names, the director is believed to have said that he is aware of the beautiful Indian actresses and the three Khans. With Indian suddenly in everyone's face after Boyle's film swept the Oscars, it would be a little difficult to ignore the country and its talented actors. But it is not just the Khans, who have made their presence felt in the West. Actors like Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Irrfan Khan, Aishwariya Rai, Tabu along with music maestro AR Rahman, directors of Indian origin like Mira Nair, Deepa Mehta and Gurinder Chaddha have made sure that India has always had a place in world cinema. Today with the world looking at Indian cinema, it would be nice to even remember maestros like the late V Shantaram, Raj Kapoor and Satyajit Ray, and of course, the great Amitabh Bachchan, who pioneered Indian cinema in the West. That day does not seem far off when one of the Khans may be working in a Hollywood film directed by one of the Hollywood greats like Howard.!
