Bollywood in crisis: Superstars on 'idle' mode!!
Just as in the last year, Bollywood is looking up to the top four actors to bail them out of the crisis following the multiplex stand-off. But, their films are being delayed for one reason or the other.
With the first five months of the year almost over, there is not even a single hit, barring Emraan Hashmi's 'Raaz- The Mystery Continues', which is just a semi-hit. And with the multiplex issue still going on, things seem bleak for Bollywood.
Shah Rukh Khan's latest, 'My Name Is Khan', has been delayed due to SRK's surgery and other unrelated factors and as per Karan it's just around fifty per cent complete, and will now release in February 2011. So, it's now up to Aamir Khan, with his '3 Idiots', Akshay Kumar with 'Kambakkht Ishq' and Hrithik Roshan with 'Kites', who are expected to come to the rescue of the beleaguered Bollywood.
Last year, the top four actors of Bollywood - Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar- had bailed the industry out of crisis with their blockbuster successes. Leading the pack was Aamir Khan, with his all-time blockbuster 'Ghajini' (Rs. 113 crore). King Khan too was next with his blockbuster, Yash Raj's 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' (Rs 87 crore). Akshay Kumar, the then hit machine, chipped in with his superhit, 'Singh Is Kinng' (Rs 75 crore) and superhero, Hrithik Roshan too contributed with his Ashutosh Gowariker directed historical, 'Jodhaa Akbar' (RS 62 crore).
