Vipul Shah’s Action Replay hit the floors yesterday with Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai in a film together after five years. Action Replay is a film based on a Gujarati play that will have a little inclination towards the baseline of reverse aging, just like ‘The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button’. (TCCOBB)
Although Shah asserts that the script for the film was written before TCCOBB was written the two films have unavoidable similarities. In Action Replay the film will see the 62 year old Akshay Kumar turn into a 26 year old young man, and with each generation leap, Akshay Kumar is said to grow younger, so from being a father akki will turn into a hip-shaking youngster with bell bottoms and all.
The film has gone into the initial stages of shooting and Vipul Shah could never be happier that his 15 year old dream is coming true. “ have always wanted to make this Gujarati play into a film. When the casting fell into place, everything else fell into place.” – says he.Vipul has also clarified that the films title is registered with him and that all those rumours of the title owned by his arch enemy Gaurang Doshi.
The movie is expected to hit cinemas in the end of this year so until then we’ll keep you posted.
