Now, Monica Bedi takes to devotional singing

Having seen the glamour of the tinsel town, the harsh existence behind prison walls and the 'make-believe' world of reality shows, former starlet Monica Bedi is all set to don a new role - that of a devotional singer.

Bedi, whose family originally hails from Chhabewal village near Hoshiarpur town in Punjab, 130 km from here, chose this place Wednesday to announce the release of her first album of Sikh devotional music.

The music album has been launched by Universal Music.

The album comprises her renditions of the "Mool Mantra" and passages from the Sikh religious compilation "Japji Sahib" in a musical background.

Strictly talking only about the album and refusing to speak even a word on her controversial past life with jailed gangster and extortionist Abu Salem, Bedi said that she had forgotten the past and was "looking ahead".

Bedi claimed that she had some Bollywood offers in the pipeline after her stint with reality shows 'Big Boss' and 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa'.
