Bipasha is in the Race

Despite reports to the contrary, Bipasha Basu is definitely still Madhur Bhandarkar's first preference. In recent times, one heard rumours of how the director was looking at other actresses to play the lad in his sequel to Corporate.


The case of Race was also cited, where Kareena Kapoor has replaced Bipasha in the sequel. But that had probably more to do with the makers wanting to cash in on the chemistry of the Saif Kareena jodi. It will be remembered that one of the highlights of Race was the sizzling scenes between Saif and Bipasha. But all is not lost. Corporate, which is all set to have a sequel very soon, may just feature Bipasha in the cast. Bhandarkar is believed to be quite keen to cast her in the sequel which he is planning to make next. The director has just finished the shooting of his film, Jail, which stars Neil Nitin Mukesh and Manoj Bajpai. Corporate 2, which is believed to be in the scripting stage, is being produced by Percept Picture Company. The sequel is expected to have a fresh new plot. This time round, Bhandarkar is likely to have a more generous budget to play around with. The sequel's budget is being pegged at Rs 20 crore. With an increase in the budget, the makers are looking to rope in bigger and more saleable stars. Corporate's star cast consisted of Kay Kay Menon, Rajat Kapoor, Raj Babbar and Bipasha. It is likely that most of the earlier cast will not feature in the sequel, except for Bipasha, that is. She is a leading contender for the leading lady's role, as far as Bhandarkar is concerned.
