Bollywood salutes womanhood
She's a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother. She walks the ramp and the board rooms with equal elegance, poise and style. And she sets the screen afire by her eloquent portrayals. A look at the women who made Bollywood realise that they are not just glam dolls. Tabu: Be it her Mumtaz in 'Chandini Bar' or Nina Verma in 'Cheeni Kum' , Tabu has been one actress who has never been stereotyped. Her best would be perhaps the role of Aditi in 'Astitva'. Aditi is a victim of circumstances. A husband who is keen on building up his business, leaving her lonely and form a relationship with her music teacher whose son she bears. Aditi tries - time and again to tell her husband about it, but in the end when he finds out about her relationship, he walks away forcing her for a divorce. And it is then that Aditi says she did not have an identity beyond being Mrs Aditi Shrikant Pandit, and that her journey onwards would be to discover Aditi - or herself. A bold statement to make.
