Anurag Kashyap: Ayesha is a female Kay Kay

Anurag Kashyap certainly has a penchant for extracting superlative performances from his debutant heroines. We saw that recently in DEV D where Mahi as well as Kalki came up trumps with their Paro and Chanda act respectively. Now he has great words to say about his find Ayesha Mohan as well who plays the key role of 'Kiran' in his upcoming film GULAAL.
"I can conveniently tag Ayesha Mohan as the female Kay Kay Menon. She is really intense and a bundle of talent. I am sure she is going to go places", says Anurag fondly about the actor whom he discovered years back when GULAAL was supposed to go on floors way back in 2005.

About the film, Anurag goes on to elaborate, "The film is set in Rajasthan and tells a fictional tale. It is a love story cum political cum thriller all rolled into one and is the journey of an honest man fighting a corrupt system. There is also a terrorist outfit angle in the movie. I wanted to make this film years back but due to certain circumstances, the film didn't move ahead. However, the story remained closest to my heart and so here I am."

The film also stars other newcomers like Raj Chaudhary and Abhimanyu Singh who play the lead protagonists. "Raj is surely going to be a man to watch out for. In addition, Kay Kay Menon and Aditya Srivastava anyways provide strength to the film. Plus there is Mahi who would be seen in a film of mine again after DEV D", he says.

He is quite positive about the music of the film as well, "Music of GULAAL is the kind that you would have never heard before. It forms an important piece of the movie and is composed by Piyush Mishra, who also writes the lyrics.
