This one will make 1920 look like a kid’s movie: Vikram Bhatt

Vikram Bhatt is all set to outdo himself by making the scariest movie ever that according to him will make his previous venture look like bird feed. Tentatively titled ‘Shaapit’ (The Curse) - which will fall under the horror genre of course- he will center the film totally on special effects.

The film is in pre-production as of now and Bhatt made a public statement saying "Shaapith will make 1920 look like a children's film. My new project is an adventure-laden horror film. There's a search for something. It's not gory, just plain scary."

The horror part of the movie will not be anything like you’ve seen before, as the adventure progresses in the movie, so will the horror. "All the scary things unfold as part of the adventure."

He adds, "There have been films like The Raiders of the Lost Ark, Romancing The Stone, The Lord of the Rings the elements are all weaved as part of the plot."

It is also known that the film is set in contemporary as well as in the past. he will begin the film with scenes in the present and then link it with something that happened in the past. Although this is a really common story line in the west, something like this has not been done before in India and coupled with some good special effects it sounds like a good movie. Apart from Mumbai, the film will be shot in Scotland and Rajasthan.

The film will feature Aditya Narayan, Shweta Agarwal & Shub Joshi. "For Shaapith, I needed a young cast," says Vikram.

"Anyway it is not a sequel but a new story with a different set of characters. My interest to see the film would be purely academic like my desire to see any other movie that gets released every week. I will wait for the DVD to arrive. I am in no tearing hurry to see it," says Vikram. Signing off Bhatt says only one thing “This time, I want to really scare.”.
